Congo Gorilla trekking

Mountain gorilla tours in Congo are done in Virunga national park situated East of DR Congo bordering Uganda and Rwanda which actually makes it very easy for our clients to trek gorillas from the Congo side and back to Rwanda or Uganda.

The Virunga national park is home to over 200 mountain gorillas, which are living within mostly the southern part of the park.
The Virunga Conservation park is managed and protected by the Congo National Park Authorities and the ICCN - Institut Congolais pour la Conservation de la Nature a partner with the Africa Conservation Fund who are promoting conservation and protecting mountain gorilla population there, and the gorilla population is more stable and recovering progressively after the political instabilities in Congo with high chances of seeing the gorillas with ease.

Goma is the nearest town located just 3 hours driving from Kigali on a well maintained road and crossing to Congo via the Cyanika border. This town is very safe with a number of accommodation facilities. Goma is situated about 32 km from the Virunga national park bad requires to use a 4*4 land cruiser van as the roads to the park are in bad condition.

Goma town can also be accessed from southern Uganda crossing via the Bunagana border and then drive to the Virunga national park. Border crossing fees apply when crossing the Congo
