Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park
Early morning with your guide drive through Mubende to Fortportal on a 3 – 4 hours’ drive. You will have lunch in fort portal, after which check into your hotel. In the afternoon head out for a community walk to visit the crater lakes region where you will have spectacular views of the Lakes. Dinner and overnight stay at chimpanzee guest house (budget)/Primates lodge Kibale (mid range)/Kyaninga lodge (luxury)
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking –Bigodi swamp tour
Have early breakfast and report to the ranger station in Kibale for a short briefing and thereafter, enter the forest to track the habituated chimpanzees. After this delightful experience, return to the Lodge for relaxation, in the afternoon, set out for a walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary with an opportunity to see a diversity of birdlife, flora and fauna. Day 3: Drive to Bwindi through Ishasha Sector
Wake up to a beautiful cup of coffee and get ready for departure to Bwindi impenetrable forest, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Bwindi comprises of over 480 mountain gorillas, with 12 habituated gorilla groups. The journey goes through the Ishasha sector famous for Tree-Climbing lions. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs or Gorilla Forest Camp (Luxury)/ Silverback Lodge (Midrange)/Buhoma Community Bandas or wagtail eco safari camp (Budget)
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking
Wake up very early in the morning and prepare for the Gorilla Tracking activity, include your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. There are always park guides with you who interpret the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. In the evening, you may go for cultural walk to batwa community. Dinner and over night at your lodge.
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, you will transfer back to Kampala with en route stopover in Mbarara town for Lunch.
