Nyungwe forest is a dense tropical rainforest characterized with thick canopy hope to a large number of primate species including chimpanzees, black Columbus monkeys, vervet monkeys and so much more. Day 1: Kigali Tour & Transfer to Nyungwe Forest
Early morning breakfast at your hotel and be ready to transfer to Nyungwe forest National Park. En-route stop over to visit Nyanza King’s Palace, National Museum and the Genocide Memorial of Murambi. Have lunch in Butare, the second largest city of Rwanda after Kigali. Later after lunch you will continue with your Journey to Nyungwe National Park popular for its primate population for dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe Forest Lodge (Luxury) or Nyugwe Top view Hotel (mid range), Gisakura Guest House (Budget)
Day 2: Nyungwe Chimpanzee Tracking
Have your breakfast early and be ready to leave the hotel as early as 6:00am to report to the park head offices for your briefing. Thereafter enter the forest to search for the Chimpanzees and other primates like the black colobus monkeys among others. Carry packed lunch and bottled mineral water since the chimps are elusive and the time taken to find them is not certain. After return to your hotel for resting. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel of Day 1
Day 3: Canopy walk – Departure
Have breakfast at your hotel and head out for a canopy walk into the Nyungwe forest. The canopy walk will provide you a great opportunity of viewing a variety of bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch and drive to Kigali for departure.
