Detailed itinerary of the 7 days Uganda Primate Safari

Day 1: Trip to Kibale National Park – Primate Expedition

Your 7 day Uganda Primate Safari to Kibale National Park starts early after breakfast at the hotel and briefing from your guide. Kibale trip from Kampala via Mityana-Mubende-Fort Portal route covers about 5 hours and with an early arrival at Fort Portal city, make a stopover for lunch. After, expect a quick Tooro Kings Palace tour and then drop off at a lodge in or around Kibale. You will later have a community walk that covers the Crater Lake expedition then returns to your lodge to retire for the night.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking from Kanyanchu & Bigodi Wetland visit

Breakfast be offered to you early and next, report to Kanyanchu Tourist Centre for a briefing on Kibale Chimpanzee Tracking rules as earlier as 7:00 am. After the park guide escorts you in a group of 6pax to look for chimpanzees in Kibale Forest and as you walk for 2-4 hours, you will also be enjoying sightings of other primates, birds, and butterflies.

Only 1 hour is what your guide will let you enjoy with chimpanzees once you have got them. The guide will explain every detail about the behaviors of these apes and also interpret the unique gestures while you also take pictures. After this overall experience, return to enjoy lunch at the lodging facility. The afternoon shall be covered with Bigodi Wetland walk to see more primates, enjoy bird sightings to mention but a few.

Day 3: Trip from Kibale to Queen Elizabeth – Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Day 3 of your 7 days Uganda Primate Safari takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Western Uganda for game viewing. You begin your 3 hours’ trip after breakfast, navigate via Fort Portal and get some wildlife sightings as you drive to your lodge to check-in and also to be provided lunch.

After lunch at the lodge, set off for 2-3 hours of a thrilling Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise. This comes with significant game sightings ranging from hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and a number of other species on river banks including elephants, buffaloes, etc.

Day 4: Kasenyi Guided Game Drive & travel to Bwindi

Day of 7 days Uganda Primate Safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park starts with early breakfast and you undertake a guided game drive on Kasenyi Track lasting for 2-3 hours. The wildlife sightings to expect on this game track range from buffaloes, lions, elephants, leopards, waterbucks, Kobs to warthogs.

Carry some packed lunch and water to drink, then be early at the briefing station to have insight on rules and regulations to follow. At 8:00 am the briefing will be done and you should be ready to hit Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to go look for the assigned gorilla family out of 20 which are harbored in this park.

Lake Mburo is a magical savanna park, compact but hosts several zebras, elands, impalas, waterbucks, giraffes, and birds. Proceed to enjoy a community walk leading to Salt Lick Wooden Platform to enjoy great sights of wildlife as they converge in huge numbers to lick the salty soil. Later, join other visitors for an afternoon Lake Mburo boat cruise expecting amazing wildlife sightings especially of hippos, crocodiles.
