3 days Bwindi gorillas & hiking tour offers you opportunity to go track mountain gorillas in their natural environment which rewards you with a lifetime experience. The short Uganda tour also takes you through a remarkable hiking tour along Nkuringo trail in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is set in the Southwest side of Uganda is a home to all 120 mammal species that include 459 mountain gorillas. The Park sits on 331sq.kms of land area, Kabale district and comprises of 4 trail-heads or regions-Rushaga, Buhoma, Ruhija and Nkuringo. In total, the 4 regions host 20 habituated families of habituated mountain gorillas. The 3 days Bwindi gorillas & hiking tour begins and ends in Kisoro.

Detailed itinerary of the 3 days Bwindi gorillas & hiking tour
Day 1: Leave Kisoro to Nkuringo region
Enjoy a hefty breakfast at the hotel in Kisoro Town, after, leave for an early morning 1 hour and 30 minutes’ walk to Sheba campsite. This is on the Southern Lake Mutanda shores where you will meet the peddlers waiting to usher you into the 3 hours canoeing challenge connecting from Lake Mutanda to Rwajember Landing site.
Have the best views of the dotted islands on L. Mutanda, the surrounding banana plantations etc. Sight different birds ranging from crested cranes, black headed herons, hadada ibis etc then at Rwajember site, walk through the villages while viewing the nearby Mubano Trading Centre. Drive for 10kms to Nkuringo afterwards to check into your accommodation.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking, community visit (optional)
Have a heavy breakfast after, assemble at Nkuringo region for briefing about dos and don’ts for gorilla trekking. You will be assigned to one of the 3 gorilla groups in Nkuringo, Nkuringo, Christmas and Bushaho. Begin trekking at 8:00am, take about 2-6 hours and once you have found a gorilla family of these giant apes, have one hour face to face with them, take pictures then return to the lodge. You may have a cultural visit in the community in Nkuringo sector in the south though this is optional.

Day 3: Nkuringo-Buhoma trail walk in Bwindi, departure
Wake up early to have a delicious breakfast, after, start your trek through Nkuringo-Buhoma trail 3-4 hours of exploring Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. A 3-4 hours walk includes visit to at least 2 of the villages Nkuringo and Buhoma but don’t miss the exceptional views of the misty hillsides of this area. Cross through the water from the crisscrossing river trails of Ivy River and Kashasha River trails.
The Nkuringo-Buhoma trail can as well be explored while on Ivy river trail starting from Nkuringo to Buhoma, about 6 and half hours of walking. Or Kashasha trail from Nkuringo region 6 to 7 hours walk. You will meet your driver guide for transfer to Kisoro, end of the 3 days Bwindi gorillas & hiking tour
