Day 1: Transfer to Hotel in Kampala

Day 2: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park

Have breakfast early in the morning and after, meet your safari leader ready to begin your 4-5 hours’ road trip to Murchison Falls National Park which is situated in Northwestern Uganda. A road trip to Murchison Falls National Park includes a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking and later, drive to a hotel in Masindi Town for lunch. Thereafter, connect to the park via Kichumbanyobo gate through Budongo Forest Reserve while enjoying the remarkable sights at the playful olive baboons. Arrive early to check-in at your desired safari lodge for relaxation, dinner and a night stay.

Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast and at 7:00 am, you will embark on early morning game drive along the Northern circuit of Murchison Falls National Park. This will allow you to see a variety of wildlife species including African bush elephants, Rothschild giraffes, warthogs, antelopes, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and many bird species. You will spend about 3-4 hours and after, return to the lodge to have lunch.

In the afternoon, you will set off for the afternoon launch trip to the bottom of Murchison Falls. This exciting water sport will last you about 3 hours and, on the way, you will come across hippos, Nile crocodiles, water birds, and many others. At Baker’s rock, you will disembark and then hike to the top of Murchison Falls about 45 minutes. After a thrilling experience on the scenic Murchison Falls, meet the driver guide who will drive you back to the lodge for you to relax, dine and spend a night.

Day 4: Transfer from Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest National Park

Wake up early to have breakfast and later, check out of the lodge ready to set off for about 7 hours’ drive to Kibale Forest National Park. En-route, you will make a stopover for lunch and then drive via Fort Portal Town to connect to Kibale Forest National Park.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and guided nature walks

Have breakfast early in the morning and later, join other visitors at Kanyanchu Visitor Center for a briefing on the set guidelines that you need to observe while on a trek to see chimpanzees. On chimpanzee trek, expect to see not only chimpanzees but also other primate species, birds, plants, butterflies and many more. Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park can last you about 2-4 hours and once you have found chimpanzees, you will be given an hour to learn about their behaviors, take pictures.

Return from your chimpanzee trekking experience to have lunch. After, you will drive to Bigodi Wetland for guided nature walks where you will come across red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys and many bird species including the great blue turacos.

Day 6: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Check out of the lodge after breakfast and then set off to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park about 6 hours’ drive. Drive via Ishasha area the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will catch a glimpse at the tree-climbing lions plus other wildlife species. You will have lunch at Savanna Resort and then proceed to Bwindi National Park to check-in at your desired lodge.

Day 7: Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Treks to observe the endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park commence with an early morning breakfast and later, you will be joined by other clients or find them already at Ruhija, Nkuringo, Rushaga or Buhoma sector for a briefing which begins early at around 7:00 am. You will be briefed on the set of gorilla trekking guidelines and at 8:00 am after you have been assigned to a gorilla family to track, you will embark on an actual trek together with the park guide.

Please don’t forget to come with some packed lunch or energy giving snacks and bottled drinking water. Treks to view mountain gorillas can last you about 2-6 hours which also includes 1 hour of magical encounter. Today, you won’t only see mountain gorillas but also other primate species, birds and learn about unique plant species that are of medicinal importance. The afternoon will be spent relaxing at the lodge or you visit the Batwa community for a cultural experience.
