Day 1: Travel from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park After breakfast or upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, meet your driver-guide for a briefing on the two-day Uganda gorilla safari. Begin the drive toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, crossing the border at Cyanika or Katuna into Uganda.

The journey from Kigali to the Buhoma area of Bwindi typically takes approximately 3–4 hours in a comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle, depending on border formalities and road conditions.

Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon, check in, and rest in preparation for the following day’s trek. Overnight near Bwindi (Buhoma sector).

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking & Return to Kigali After an early breakfast, transfer to the Buhoma park headquarters for the briefing, which usually begins around 7:00 am. Park rangers will explain the rules and regulations for gorilla tracking.

The trek itself starts at approximately 8:00 am. You will set out into the dense forest with your ranger guide and trackers to locate your assigned habituated gorilla family. The walk can take from a couple of hours up to 6–7 hours or more depending on the location of the group. Once the gorillas are found, you spend a full, carefully regulated hour observing them at close range.
