7 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari
Overview
One of the best extended safari packages in Rwanda is the 7-Day Rwanda Gorillas Safari, which has been carefully designed to provide remarkable primate and animal experiences in their native environments. With this immersive experience, which is skillfully designed and led by Silverback Gorilla Tour, you may visit some of Rwanda’s most popular tourist spots in a single, well-paced excursion.
You will visit Volcanoes National Park for an incredible mountain gorilla trekking adventure and Nyungwe Forest National Park for an exhilarating chimpanzee tracking encounter during your seven-day Rwanda primates safari. In order to enhance the depth and beauty of your Rwanda safari experience, the itinerary also includes a picturesque excursion to the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.
Along with other fascinating activities, the 6-night/7-day Rwanda vacation includes the country’s two most famous primate adventures: chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest and gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park (Ruhengeri). These include the well-known Nyungwe canopy walk, a city tour of Kigali, a leisurely Lake Kivu cruise, Twin Lakes sightseeing, wildlife observation, and lots of photo ops.
The roughly 1,000 square kilometer Nyungwe Forest National Park in southwest Rwanda is home to 13 primate species of international importance, including vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, large troops of olive baboons, 500 chimpanzees, and L’Hoest’s monkeys. On the other hand, Volcanoes National Park in northwest Rwanda is well known across the world for its protection of mountain gorillas, as well as more than 200 bird species, golden monkeys, forest elephants, and colobus monkeys.

Come back to the lodge to relax and refuel after the hike. Enjoy the famous Nyungwe jungle canopy walk later in the afternoon. This two-hour excursion provides amazing views from above the jungle. Thirteen habituated mountain gorilla families reside in Volcanoes National Park; one family is assigned to each group of up to eight tourists, who are escorted by a knowledgeable park guide. Once the gorillas have been found, you are allowed to see these gentle giants in their native habitat for an hour during a highly controlled face-to-face interaction.
