4 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Karisimbi Hiking Safari
Overview
In Volcanoes National Park, the 4-day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking and Mount Karisimbi Hiking Safari provides the ideal balance of high-altitude adventure and wildlife interactions. This brief trip to Rwanda combines an exciting ascent to the peak of Mount Karisimbi, the tallest of the eight Virunga Volcanoes, with an amazing journey to witness mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
The only place in Rwanda to do mountain gorilla trekking and track golden monkeys is Volcanoes National Park, which is part of the Virunga Massif. The park, which is roughly 160 square kilometers in size and is situated in Rwanda’s far northwest, is home to five Virunga volcanoes: Mount Gahinga, Mount Karisimbi , Mount Sabyinyo, Mount Muhabura, and Mount Bisoke.
Along with monkeys, the park is home to more than 200 different species of birds, a variety of mammals, such as antelopes, buffaloes, and hyenas, and a wealth of vegetation. This tour will tell you more about the history of Volcanoes National Park, which was gazetted in 1925 and created primarily to protect mountain gorillas. The journey starts and finishes in Kigali, making it a practical yet incredibly fulfilling trip in Rwanda.
