Before heading to the Igongo Cultural Center for lunch, you’ll stop at the Uganda Equator crossing for some photos and leisure. After lunch, make your way to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Once you arrive at the lodge, relax, have dinner, and spend the night there.
First thing in the morning is breakfast as you make your way to the Ntebeko Visitor Center for a training on the golden monkey tracking protocol before you set out on your adventure in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Your adventure to see golden monkeys will begin at 8:00 am after you’ve been assigned a park ranger guide. The walk could take two to four hours, including an hour of amazing encounters. Afterwards, you can relax at the lodge and prepare for an evening of cultural immersion by visiting the Batwa community. Spend the night at the lodge after dinner.
Begin your morning with a relaxed cup of tea or coffee, then check out of the lodge and set off on your return drive to Kampala or Entebbe. Along the way, you will stop in Mbarara town for lunch before continuing to Mpambire, where you can observe local artisans crafting traditional drums and learn about this unique cultural practice.
