Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park After early breakfast, your Uganda tour guide will pick you up and begin the scenic 8–9 hour drive to the Ruhija sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. Stop at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for photographs and the classic water experiment, then continue with a lunch stop in Mbarara.

As you drive through the Kabale highlands – often called the “Switzerland of Africa” – enjoy the rolling terraced hills and beautiful countryside. Arrive at your lodge in the Ruhija area in the late afternoon or early evening, check in, and rest in preparation for the following day’s gorilla trek. Overnight near Bwindi.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha – Boat Cruise & Game Drive After a hot cup of tea or coffee, check out and begin the 3–4 hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The route passes through the southern Ishasha sector, where you have a good chance of spotting the famous tree-climbing lions resting in the large fig trees.

Arrive at your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a 2–3 hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. Expect excellent views of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, and a wide variety of waterbirds.

Later, set out on an evening guided game drive in search of lions, elephants, cape buffalo, antelopes, warthogs, leopards, and other wildlife. Overnight in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
