Our company’s tour guide will meet you at Kigali International Airport and take you to your chosen accommodation, be it the Top View Hotel (for the budget), the Urban Boutique Hotel (for the luxury), or the Kigali Serena Hotel (for the ultimate in luxury).
You will be taken from the hotel for a city tour in the morning. See the local markets, Ntarama Church, and the Genocide Memorial. After that, you will depart for a picturesque journey to Akagera National Park, arriving there in the evening.Rusizi Tented Lodge/Akagera Game Lodge for dinner and the night.
After you have your breakfast, head north of the park in your car to meet up with the early birds before they go into hiding. Animals such as antelopes, giraffes, elephants, buffalo, and bushbucks are among those you might observe. Take a boat ride on Lake Ihema after lunch for a chance to see wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles, and a wide array of birds. Dinner and the night (the second day).
After you finish your breakfast, depart the park and make your way to Volcanoes National Park via Kigali. Afterwards, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the Iby’wachu and gain a deeper understanding of Rwandan traditional culture.Staying at the Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, La Palme Hotel, or Muhabura Hotel for dinner and the night.
Get up, prepare a lunch, and proceed to the part headquarters for a pre-tracking briefing before starting on the gorilla tracking experience in the woods. Depending on how the gentle giants move, tracking could take anywhere from three to six hours. You can only be around the gorillas for one hour at a time before you have to leave. Dinner and a stay overnight (Day 5).
Tracking golden monkeys is the first order of business today. Then, departing from Gisenyi, you will embark on a breathtaking trip to Lake Kivu. The hot springs are accessible via boat, which you can take after you arrive. Have dinner and spend the night at one of these resorts: Kivu Serena, Paradise Malahide, or Palm Garden.
Get a head start on the day by having breakfast before you hit the road to Nyungwe National Park, making photographic and lunch stops along the way. You should expect to arrive at the park early in the evening.Enjoy dinner and a night’s sleep at one of three hotels: Nyungwe Forest Lodge, Nyungwe Top View Lodge, or Gisakura.
Your chimpanzee tracking trip will begin bright and early after breakfast as you make your way into the jungle. Get back to the hotel for lunch, and then head over to colobus monkeys, where you could see baboons, vervet monkeys, and other primates. Another option is to take the stunning forest canopy walk, which offers a bird’s-eye perspective of the whole Nyungwe Forest and more. A night’s lodging and supper.
When you wake up, you’ll journey back to Kigali, stopping along the way at places like the Murambi genocide monument, the Butare museum, the Nyanza museum, and other places that are wonderful for learning more about Rwanda’s history and having fun. If all goes according to plan, you will get to Kigali in the evening and then go to the airport to leave.
