2 Day Gorilla Trekking Rwanda
Overview
A two-day gorilla trekking tour in Rwanda is a great option for anyone on a tight budget who would still like to see these majestic creatures in their natural environment. On this 2-day Rwanda gorilla tour, you have the opportunity to meet one of the thirteen gorilla families who call this bamboo forest park home. Rwanda has been the top spot for gorilla trekking since Dian Fossey’s time. The country offers luxurious gorilla safaris for $1500 per permit. Volcanoes National Park in northwest Rwanda is home to the second-biggest mountain gorilla population in the world, behind Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. It is also home to the greatest population in the Virunga Conservation Area. With the express goal of preventing the extinction of the mountain gorilla, the Gorilla Park was founded in 1925. In addition to mountain gorillas, other wild animals found in Volcanoes National Park include forest elephants, buffalo, golden monkeys, and a variety of bird species. Approximately 180 bird species, including those unique to the Albertine Rift, as well as golden monkeys, bushbucks, duikers, spotted hyenas, gigantic forest hogs, leopards, and other remarkable wildlife can be observed in this park.
