Detailed itinerary of the 7 days Uganda Primate Safari

Day 1: Trip to Kibale National Park – Primate Expedition

After breakfast at the hotel and a briefing from your guide, your 7-day Uganda Primate Safari to Kibale National Park begins. The travel from Kampala to Kibale takes around five hours and goes through MityanaMubende, and Fort Portal. If you get to Fort Portal city early, stay for lunch. After that, you’ll get a quick tour of the Tooro Kings Palace and then be dropped off to a lodge in or near Kibale. Later, you’ll go on a community walk that includes the Crater Lake adventure and then go back to your lodge to sleep for the night.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking from Kanyanchu & Bigodi Wetland visit

Breakfast be offered to you early and next, report to Kanyanchu Tourist Centre for a briefing on Kibale Chimpanzee Tracking rules as earlier as 7:00 am. After the park guide escorts you in a group of 6pax to look for chimpanzees in Kibale Forest and as you walk for 2-4 hours, you will also be enjoying sightings of other primates, birds, and butterflies. 

Only 1 hour is what your guide will let you enjoy with chimpanzees once you have got them. The guide will explain every detail about the behaviors of these apes and also interpret the unique gestures while you also take pictures. After this overall experience, return to enjoy lunch at the lodging facility. The afternoon shall be covered with Bigodi Wetland walk to see more primates, enjoy bird sightings to mention but a few.

Day 3: Trip from Kibale to Queen Elizabeth – Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Visiting Western Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park for wildlife viewing is Day 3 of your 7-day Uganda Primate Safari. After breakfast, you’ll set out on your three-hour journey, taking in the sights along the way via Fort Portal and hopefully seeing some animals on your way to the lodge for lunch and check-in.  
Get ready for an exciting 2-3 hour Kazinga Channel boat cruise after lunch at the lodge. Along with this, you can expect to see a plethora of wildlife, such as hippos, crocodiles, water birds, elephants, buffalo, and many more species along the riverbanks.

Day 4: Kasenyi Guided Game Drive & travel to Bwindi

The first thing you do on a 7-day Uganda Primate Safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park is have an early breakfast. Then, for 2–3 hours, you go on a guided game drive on Kasenyi Track. You may anticipate to see a lot of different animals on this game route, such as buffaloes, lions, elephants, leopards, waterbucks, Kobs, and warthogs.

Bring your own food and water, and go to the briefing station early to learn the laws and regulations. You will be briefed and then prepared to go to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest at 8:00 in the morning to search for your assigned family of the twenty gorillas who live in this park.  
 
The park guide will be in charge of your safety and will fill you in on a lot of information about mountain gorillas during your hour-long contact with them. The duration of a Bwindi gorilla hike is completely unpredictable, ranging from two to six hours. After an enchanting encounter that lasts an hour, you will return to the lodge. Give yourself plenty of time to relax before paying a visit to the Batwa pygmies in their village.

Day 6: Trip from Bwindi to Lake Mburo – Enjoy a Boat ride

After breakfast at your hotel in Bwindi, start a 7-hour drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Follow the Kabale-Mbarara road to Lake Mburo for another unforgettable game safari.  
Lake Mburo is a small but beautiful savanna park that is home to many zebras, elands, impalas, waterbucks, giraffes, and birds. Go on a community walk to the Salt Lick Wooden Platform, where you can see a lot of wildlife as they gather in large groups to lick the salty earth. Later, go on a boat trip on Lake Mburo with other visitors in the afternoon. You should see a lot of wildlife, including hippos and crocodiles.

Day 7: Lake Mburo Guided Game Drive & depart
