Day 1: A trip to Volcanoes National Park

Day one of the 4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking and Lake Kivu Visit will be for you to transfer to Volcanoes National Park 2-3 hours’ drive from Kigali. Start with a Kigali city tour to visit incredible craft shops, local markets, Gisozi/Kigali memorial sites, etc. Drive while enjoying the view of scenic Virunga Volcanoes and other rolling hills in the countryside. Settle for evening relaxation, dinner, and night stay at the accommodation booked earlier.

After having breakfast, you will be required to leave your accommodation with some packed lunch and water, settle for orientation about gorilla trekking regulations at 7:00 am. After you have been allocated to a park guide and gorilla family-13 families are in Volcanoes NP, at 8:00 am, go look for mountain gorillas 2-6 hours adventure. Descend after a maximum of one hour that is allowed for you to be with mountain gorillas.

Iby’Iwacu cultural walk begins early in the afternoon to enjoy cultural dances, music performances, etc. Return from Iby’Iwacu for refreshments, dinner, and overnight stay at the booked accommodation.

Tracking golden monkeys may take you 2-4 hours depending on how fast you walk, a maximum of one hour will be for you to spend with them, taking photos. After, descend from the jungles to the lodge-check out than be driven to Lake Kivu for evening relaxation.
