Detailed Itinerary – 5 Days Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for guided game viewing

Start your Uganda wildlife tour with pick up early morning from your hotel after a cup of coffee and drive off for Kasese home of Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP).

The drive 5-6 hour drive will take you through Uganda’s beautiful countryside with scenic views of tea plantations, rolling hills, and arriving in Queen Elizabeth in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will have a game drive in the savanna and later return to your hotel for a leisurely dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2:  Game Drive-Launch Cruise at Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have breakfast early morning and leave for a guided game drive to catch up with the early risers along Kasenyi Game Track at Queen Elizabeth. Expect to keep an eye on bush elephants, birds, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, buffaloes, lions, etc. Return to your lodge around QENP for a leisurely lunch.

In the afternoon, your Queen Elizabeth National Park wildlife tour includes a 2-3 hours’ launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. Expect the best sightings of diverse aquatic wildlife along the banks of the river. Your sightings along Kazinga Channel will mainly include hippos, a variety of aquatic bird species, basking crocodiles, etc.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi National Park

Breakfast be enjoyed at the booked accommodation and leave for a briefing on rules for gorilla trekking when well-prepared with packed lunch, bottled water, waterproof rain jacket, etc. All Bwindi gorilla treks across its 4 gorilla sectors start with an experienced park guide on lead and depending on the location of gorillas, expect to take about 2-6 hours.

But be guaranteed of your absolute 1 hour of a face-to-face encounter with mountain gorillas and also taking their pictures then return to have a relaxed lunch. Later, you will be part of the group heading for the Batwa Pygmies cultural walk in their community.
