Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the four extraordinary National Parks in Africa sheltering the endangered Mountain gorillas. This UNESCO World Heritage Site (since 1994) is nestled within the edge of the Albertine Rift, in the south-western side of Uganda and about 480 kilometers/8-9 hours by road from Kampala City (via the Kabale-Mbarara road).
The Impenetrable National Park is also located at around 2-3 hours’ drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park connecting through the latter’s southern sector of Ishasha, approximately 5 hours’ drive from Lake Mburo National Park, and only a few hours from the verdant Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
The location of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in south-western Uganda makes it an ideal place to go after wildlife safaris in western Uganda.
