The current gorilla permit price in Bwindi and Mgahinga national park is $600 for foreign nonresidents, $500 for foreign residents, and shillings 250,000 for East African citizens of Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda as well as Southern Sudan. For those interested in spending up to 4 hours with mountain gorillas, the price of gorilla habituation permits is $1500 for foreign non-residents and $1000 for foreign residents. The current gorilla habituation experience only takes place in Uganda and in the southern part of Bwindi Forest.

Gorilla permits in Rwanda cost $1500 per person per day for both foreign Nonresidents and the nationals of Rwanda. Rwanda has also chosen to market itself as an exclusive, upmarket destination that goes along with the building of more exclusive lodges and world-class hotels in Kigali. In order to encourage gorilla tours in Rwanda, Rwanda Development Board has introduced a 30% discount on gorilla permits, which is a respite to Travel operators. The permits are reduced with the new discount and the new rate for tour operators is $1050 between November and May which is expected to attract more travelers. Though, enjoying this rate needs one to spend 3 days in Rwanda and visit the other two national parks in Nyungwe forest national park and Akagera National Park as an added cost.

The current Congo Gorilla permit price is $ 400 per person for only one hour. Gorilla trekking takes place in Virunga National Park which is part of the Virunga massif. There is also the price of the discounted gorilla permits and these go to $200 per permit per person. These books allow whoever books them to spend 1 hour with the habituated mountain gorillas in Virunga national park. Though tracking in DRC is not safe and we recommend that you either book your permits in Uganda or Rwanda.
